By submitting a sitemap to Google you can help Google’s crawlers get the information they need for faster indexing. You can also submit individual URLs.

  • Shows the most common keywords people use to find you

They also reveal the keywords that people are finding you with that you didn’t intend to target.

  • Determine your most popular pages

Google Search Console helps you determine which pages are driving the most traffic to your website. You can see a list of all the pages that people have seen and clicked on, in descending order of popularity, with your top-performing pages at the top of the list.

You can also see which pages are performing best in terms of click-through rate and position.

  • Determine the location of your visitors

Google Search Console will also provide you with data on the location of your visitors, so you can make sure you’re reaching the right people. You’ll see the number of clicks your website receives from each country, with the highest numbers at the top of the list.

Google Search Console helps you to see the distribution of the number of clicks you get on each device type and you can switch to see the number of impressions, click-through rate, and average position as you wish.

  • Check if your website is mobile-friendly

You can also use Google Search Console to confirm that your website meets its mobile usability standards.

  • Check for broken links

Google Search Console provides you with valuable information that you can use to improve your website experience and eliminate frustrating errors that your visitors may currently be facing. In the “Crawl” section of Google Search Console, you’ll find details about any errors Google found while crawling your website, including any URLs that returned a 404 error.

Google Search Console makes it quick and easy to find out if your website has a security hole you need to be aware of.

  • Confirms the correct functionality of your schema markup or structured data

If you’re using schema markup or other structured data on your website, Google can confirm for you whether it’s properly configured to work in the SERPs. The console will tell you if your coding is set up correctly for these categories or if you need to make any changes.

  • Support

Google Search Console offers web-only support. Simply describe your problem to find the appropriate help file. However, if you get stuck, support is limited to posting in a help forum and hoping that another user answers your question.

4. Mixpanel

80 Best Free SEO Tools

Mixpanel is an efficient analytics tool with all the essential features to easily understand each user’s journey on your website.

Mixpanel allows you to use your behavioral analysis data to precisely target users with different types of messages and experiences to drive maximum engagement and adoption.

Data is sent from a user’s device or your server to Mixpanel, where it can be analyzed in real-time to better identify trends and understand user behavior.

Mixpanel analyzes customer-facing event data, such as orders completed or notes created, and then creates funnel reports so that marketers can identify user abandonment or churn based on personalized events.

Mixpanel segments users based on personalized actions and events and can create mobile, SMS, push, and in-app notifications triggered by unique user actions.

The Data Model

Unlike other analytics tools that are limited to tracking predefined engagement metrics, such as page views and browsing sessions, Mixpanel uses an event-based, user-centric model that tracks the specific actions that individual users take in your product.

This event-based approach to analytics provides a better understanding of user engagement, allowing for more granular analysis and effective targeting of messages and experiences.

Mixpanel data models are based on three key concepts: events, properties, and user profiles.

Events

An event is a significant action that a user performs in an application or on a website. User actions are tracked as events for later collection and analysis.

Event Properties

An event property is detailed about an event. For example, the registration of a new user is tracked as an event, and the type of plan they registered with can be collected as a property of the registration event.

Once tracked, events and their properties are immutable, meaning they cannot be changed.

User Profile: This is a collection of information about an individual user. Like events, user profiles have properties that describe the profile.

However, unlike events, user profiles and their properties are constantly changing to reflect the most current information about a user.

A user profile property can be a static value, such as a first name, or something more likely to change, such as the date of the last login or the number of pages a user has visited.

The different properties of Mixpanel

Your account: Each Mixpanel account will be part of at least one organization and any number of projects belonging to the organization.

The organization is the entity that links plans, projects, and Mixpanel accounts together.

Organization Role: each account within an organization has an organizational role that determines what that account has access to in the organization settings.

Projects: can be thought of as containers for your Mixpanel data that are often separated by logical criteria. A plan determines what features each project in the organization will have access to in Mixpanel.

Access to features for each account can be further limited by organization and project roles. All projects hosted in this organization are subject to the plan specifications. Plan information is available in the Organization Settings menu.

Organization and Project Roles

After logging into Mixpanel, you will see the current project you are in and your project role for that project in the top left corner of the page.

If you belong to more than one organization, the total number of organizations is displayed instead.

User Profile: Collection of information about a user. Consists of one or more user profile properties.

User Profile Property: Detail assigned to a user profile. Structured as a key: value pair where the key is the name of the property and value is the value given to this property.

Mixpanel Reports

Mixpanel offers a wide range of reports and analysis techniques to study your data. Mixpanel’s event and people reports are simple and allow you to quickly view all relevant metrics in one place and automatically surface the top and bottom performing user groups that your team can review, monitor and address.

Insights: This is a fundamental and most versatile report that allows you to answer a wide range of questions.

Funnels: allow you to view your product or website’s conversion drops.

Formulas: allow you to perform complex calculations on your data without using Excel.

Signal: is a machine learning-enhanced report that helps you find correlations between your events to better understand what drives key product outcomes, such as retention or other conversion events.

Retention: This will allow you to organize your users into groups (or cohorts) and understand how they use your product.

Live View: This report allows you to see your data in real-time.

Flows: This will help you better understand the paths your users take to reach a specific conversion.

This can be very useful, especially if you’re trying to improve an onboarding flow or other product flows.

Mixpanel also allows you to integrate across platforms to collect and analyze user data and perform A/B testing campaigns with users who are considering leaving or upgrading.

Mixpanel’s free plan, lets you track 100,000 monthly users, which is enough to find the product-market fit.

Detailed information about each type is available in Google’s Search Features Gallery, which you can check for changes and updates to existing rich results structured data or to discover new additions.

Jaaxy’s keyword metric gives you examples of long-tail keywords that are similar to the keyword you entered.

  • (Monthly Searches):

Jaaxy’s Avg.  tool is the average number of searches made per month for that keyword on Google, Bing, and Yahoo combined.

Traffic is the estimated number of visitors you will get if you are ranked on Google in the first position on page 1. This is the lowest estimated traffic for these ranks, but you may see even more visits.

  • Quoted Search Results (QSR):

Quoted Search Results show you the number of results containing the same keyword or phrase in the title on Google.

This metric from Jaaxy takes a slightly different twist than other keyword research tools.

it shows how many other websites are ranked in Google for that exact keyword and gives you an estimate of how thick your competition is.

The lower this number is, the better. The easiest keywords are less than 100. A good number is 200 and 300 is good. Beyond that, things start to get more and more difficult for ranking.

  • Keyword Quality Indicator (KQI):

KQI stands for keyword quality indicator. This metric takes advantage of the traffic light system indicator that shows you a green, yellow or red light to rank your keyword. Red is bad, yellow is good, and green is excellent.

  • SEO:

The SEO score is a measure of how hard it is to rank for a certain keyword. Based on the previous scores and ranging from 0 to 100, this metric tells you how good your keyword is for SEO.

The higher the number, the better. Over 80 is really good. Jaaxy does this in the opposite direction of other keyword tools. In all other keyword tools, 1 is easy and 100 is hard. Jaaxy’s indicator is the other way around – 100 is easy and 1 is hard.

  • Domain Search:

Domain Search Check is another Jaaxy feature that tells you if there are domain names exactly matching your keyword in 8 different TLDs (domain extensions).

You can use it to find domains, determine if a domain has instant value, buy lucrative domains and create your lucrative domain conversion business.

  • Site Rank:

Site Rank is one of the features that Jaaxy is excellent at. This feature is ideal to check the ranking of your site or your post. Site Rank allows you to enter a keyword and the URL of a site and shows you how that site has ranked in the past. You can look at the past week, month or year.

Alphabet Soup is one of the best JAAXY features that gives you plenty of long-tail keyword ideas by taking advantage of the Google Instant feature to add all the letters of the alphabet to your keyword/keyphrase based on actual searches by internet users.

  • Saved Lists:

Saved Lists compile your keywords into lists to better organize them by topic or niche allowing you to further analyze the potential traffic and competition that these keywords can bring you.

  • Search History:

The search history allows you to remember your previous keyword searches, even if you haven’t saved those keywords in your saved lists.

  • Search Analysis:

Search analysis allows you to see which sites/pages are in the top 10 positions of Google, Bing, or Yahoo. This feature is ideal to know everything about your competitors. This feature allows you to find the keywords that your competitors are ranked for.

51. Mobile-Friendly Test

80 Best Free SEO Tools

if you want to know your website is mobile-friendly or not there is no better way to find out than to let Google tell you itself.

The Google Mobile-Friendly Test is a free tool to help businesses understand how it defines mobile friendly. It measures how easily users can access, read and navigate your site on mobile devices, with a pass/fail score and suggestions for improvement.

Enter a website’s URL in the address window, and after a few moments of analysis, the tool tells you whether the site is mobile-friendly or not.

It shows you the score, as well as a color indicating if your page is mobile-friendly (green) or not (red).

It also gives you the option to display the page as Googlebot Mobile sees it.

the Google mobile-friendly test includes data such as :

– the mobile-friendliness score/percentage

– the impact score of the rule for each of the domains affecting the mobile score/percentage

– Number of “retrieved” resources, including respective URLs

– Number of failed resource retrievals

To be considered mobile-friendly, a website must load quickly and consistently across a wide range of devices and signal conditions.

The Google Mobile-Friendly test looks for issues that prevent this from happening, such as

Viewport Problems

Triggered when Google detects that your page does not specify a viewport. If the viewport (a meta-scaler that defines the size of the display window of a web page) is not configured to fit the screen size or is a fixed width, the site will not display properly on all mobile devices.

For a mobile-friendly site, the viewport is set to the width offered by the device.

Horizontal scrolling

The vertical scrolling has become the norm on mobiles, as well as on desktops.

Content is not to scale

Mobile sites don’t have to be the same as desktop sites, but smaller. Content must scale to the screen size when viewed on mobile.

Text too small to read:

On a responsive (mobile-friendly) site, the entire web page should be compressed by the mobile browser to fit the small screen of the device but the text should be clearly readable on a small screen without zooming in.

Touch elements are too close

Buttons and links should be far enough apart to be easily used by human fingers without the risk of accidentally touching the wrong link.

Content wider than the screen

This usually means that a content container on the page has been forced to a pixel width greater than the pixel width (full resolution) of the device screen.

The content, therefore, flows off the page, and there is no way to see it without horizontal scrolling.

 Use of incompatible plugins

This is triggered when Google detects the use of plugins on your page.

If your page is not “mobile-friendly”, it will give you in the right column of the “non-user friendly” test results recommended reading, depending on the website source.

The Rich Results Test Tool makes it easy to test your site’s eligibility for rich results. Google’s rich results testing tool analyzes your site to determine what potential rich results your page can achieve.

You can choose how you want to test your URL or code. You also have the option to test and render the data for mobile or desktop and see if the page qualifies for rich results.  You will get a preview of these rich results.

Detailed information about each type is available in Google’s Search Features Gallery, which you can check for changes and updates to existing rich results structured data or to discover new additions.

If you paste a JSON structured data item into the code field and run the test, you get the same results as with the URL option.  However, you can now also use the code input field to edit your code to fix errors or improve the structured data by fixing warnings.

You can even add schemas (structured data) to your site to tell search engines what your site content means. This helps search engines to better crawl, organize and display your content because you are telling them exactly what the content is on the page.

The purpose of this tool is to test the types of rich results supported schemas used on your site to ensure proper implementation and to ensure that your page can be displayed in rich results.

Whether you test a code snippet or a live URL, you’ll be notified if your content’s structured markup qualifies and if there are any warnings or errors due to missing schema information fields.

But to be able to test and validate schema types that are not eligible for rich results you need to use the “code” option at the beginning. This will show you any data analysis errors in the code and you will be able to modify the code inline in the tool to test and validate the updates again.

20. JAAXY

80 Best Free SEO Tools

Jaaxy is a powerful tool that helps you find the long tail and low competition keywords that allow you to easily get instant rankings.

Jaaxy is a reliable and fast online keyword research tool that is very easy to use. Jaaxy shows you detailed information about your keyword competition and saves you a lot of time if keyword research is a daily activity for you. It will help you find many new keyword ideas that mean more success for your business.

Jaaxy collects search data from the three major search engines, Google, Bing, and Yahoo, and displays it in a simplified manner.

Jaaxy Features

  • KEYWORD

Jaaxy’s keyword metric gives you examples of long-tail keywords that are similar to the keyword you entered.

  • (Monthly Searches):

Jaaxy’s Avg.  tool is the average number of searches made per month for that keyword on Google, Bing, and Yahoo combined.

  • Estimated Traffic:

  • Related Keywords:

Jaaxy’s “Related Keywords” feature suggests keywords or key phrases that are close to each other so you can go deeper in your keyword research.

Site Rank show you the search engine results page (SERP) and where an URL is ranked in Google, Bing, and Yahoo.

  • Alphabet Soup:

With this metric, Jaaxy helps you to know the word count of other similar articles already ranked on page 1. But you can find other information such as:

  • Number of backlinks to those websites/pages (backlinks help boost site rankings)
  • Title, URL, meta description, and meta keywords
  • Outbound links
  • Google Page rank
  • Alexa rank
  • Google AdSense
  • Brainstorm:

Brainstorm is another feature of Jaaxy that by selecting the latest trends from Google Trends, Yahoo! Buzz, Alexa Topics, Amazon Best Sellers and Twitter Trends helps you overcome writer’s block or those moments when you have no idea which niche to choose.

Jaaxy’s Starter Plan is a free trial to test how it works. In the free plan, you get as much time as you want, but a limited number of searches. You can get 30 keyword searches, 20 site searches, a website analyzer, affiliate program searches, and 2 keyword lists.
